I set down with both my boys this evening and we decided to try something new, something new with our empty wallflowers we've had setting around for like a year! My son popped off the tops to each of the bulbs, and we filled them up with different extracts: Peanut Butter, Vanilla, Cinnamon...I still have Rum extract left but I'm all out of bulbs..lol I'm so thankful for my boy's help for I've got this horrible double vision problem going on with my left eye. CT scan shows nothing, MRI Fri. so hopefully that will show something. So many different doctors but no where close to knowing whats wrong. So I guess I'm gonna be stuck wearing this silly eye patch til either it passes or a doctor figures it out. Oh and go to my website www.howtohome.org (How to Home/How to clean) to see the video me and my kids (boys) submitted to Youtube and downloaded on the site.

Been updating my blog, website, and facebook page, trying to get them all off the ground and going. At the same time I need to get ready for Christ Recovery tonight. But I also need to start making some Youtube videos up for the site. Think my first one will be DIY ice packs. Well time to get busy, check back for the video and let me know what you think!

Top 10 ways to recycle your old newspapers
TOP 10 USES FOR NEWSPAPER
1. Deodorize food containers. Stuff a balled-up piece of newspaper into a lunch box or thermos, seal it, and let sit overnight.
2. Keep the refrigerator vegetable drawer dry and free of smells. Line the bottom with newspaper.
3. Prepare a garden. In the fall, mow a patch of lawn to make room for a dedicated bed. Cover it with four layers of newspaper, then a four-inch layer of shredded leaves or bark mulch. Hose it down. Come spring, the compost blanket will have smothered the grass roots, and the bed will be primed for planting.
4. Ripen tomatoes. Wrap them individually and leave them out at room temperature.
5. Pack delicate items.Wrap frames and figurines with several pieces of newspaper, then crumple the remaining sections to fill extra space in the box.
6. Wipe away tough streaks on glass. Use newspaper with cleaning fluid to clean mirrors and windows.
7. Preserve antique glass. Some older frames have finishes on the glass that can be damaged by cleaning solutions. Remove smudges by rubbing with newspaper dipped in a solution of one part white vinegar and one part warm water. Let air-dry.
8. Dry shoes. Place crumpled paper in them overnight.
9. Wrap gifts. Use the comics to wrap a child’s birthday gift, or try the wedding announcements for an engagement gift.
10. Create a home for slushy snow boots. During the winter, keep a pile of newspaper near the entryway. When your little snowmen and -women come home, they can toss their winter wear onto the newspaper instead of creating puddles on the floor.

Emergency Lighting
We have a storm coming through and hopefully the power won't go out, but if it does I already have a plan. See you can take a glass jar and fill with your kid's broken crayons. Stand a couple of these up in the bottom and light the tips so they catch fire. Depending on the length of crayon depends on how long it will burn. A full size crayon will burn for about 30 min. You can reuse this over and over by adding crayons on top of the melted ones. Once full just scrape them out and place the shaving into molds, and remelt them down. They make a whole new set of crayons in the shape of you or your children's choosing. Keep checking back for new ways for you on how to home, and how to clean at the site www.howtohome.org

Learn how to clean and care for you, the home and garden using basic ingredient's you already have around the home.
July 13,2013
Here at howtohome.org you are going to learn through the site, my blog, and through video tutorials how to care completely natural for you and your home. Were also going out to the garden.
Today it is more important then ever that we try to eliminate both waste and chemicals in our homes. We hear to much of new diseases hitting our newspapers, and our televisions. We hear how cancer rates are doubling but we act like we don't know why! My family currently lives in Maysville, GA.
Anytime we drive down towards Atlanta you run straight into smog. Yes, that haze one sees hovering above the freeway. Some days the haze is so thick that it seems as if your setting in a wet steam room, where you can barely see let alone breath. When driving down the freeway you see smog alert's miles before you reach downtown. Warnings given out for the young, elderly, and the weak to stay inside.
Yes pollution is a big problem, and one person cannot take care of it all. But we can make a difference. We can make a difference by doing away with aerosol sprays and cans. Heck we can recycle as well! These are the main starting points many will start with in their green efforts. Other then that some of just don't know what else we can do to make a dent in the effort.
I am here to say that it all start's with small steps. Without steps, we never make it to our destination. So what are the small steps I'm speaking of? I'm speaking of the cleaners, pesticides, and pure toxic chemicals we bring in everyday to our own families!
I think some of us see the end clean results of using the chemicals and cleaners. As much as were happy that Raid killed the roach, ant, or bee. But do we ever notice the risks to both our families and ourselves by doing so? Do we really know what is causing the outbreak in cancer over the years? Or do we know why exactly our babies are being born with birth defects or autism?
I truly believe we are poisoning ourselves and don't even realize it! That's why I'm here. This is why my website has been built. It is to bring awareness. It's about teaching you how to clean, both effectively and on a budget. After years of research, and myself doing the "green" natural thing, I decided it was time to share my knowledge with others. This is where you can take your small first steps, this is the start of a healthy journey for you and your family. So what is this site I'm talking about?
My site is www.howtohome.org. You can become a member by donating 5.00$ to help in hosting and web costs. If you feel that financially you just cannot do this, no worry's for your not gonna be left out. The first page is the welcome or landing page for my site. There you will find the link to my blog that is in the making as of 7/12/2013.
I will be sharing different tutorial video's as well through You Tube on how to make cleaners and how to do some of the DIY tips and ideas. These you will find on the video page on the site. I do send out a monthly newsletter as well that contains helpful hints and instructions on homesteading, etc. All you have to do is go to the form page to sign up for it.
